# Delivery and retries

> Understand webhook timeouts, retries, testing, and delivery history.

CollabOS webhook requests:

* Time out after **10 seconds**.
* Do **not** follow redirects.
* Retry failed deliveries for up to **8 attempts**.

Design your endpoint to return quickly. For heavier work, verify the request, enqueue the event, and respond before processing it asynchronously.

## Test an endpoint

The webhook management API includes a test action. It sends a `test.ping` delivery to the selected endpoint so you can verify connectivity and signature handling.

`test.ping` is not a normal subscription event.

## Delivery history

You can request the **50 most recent deliveries** for a personal or workspace webhook endpoint through the management API. Delivery records include attempts, response status, error information, and delivery timestamps.

Use delivery history when debugging timeouts, non-success responses, or signature/configuration problems.

## Rotate a secret

Webhook secrets can be rotated through the management API. Store the newly returned secret securely and update your receiver before relying on subsequent deliveries.
